How Does Your Story End?

March 16, 2012

We all have our stories. Chapters beginning and chapters closing. But when does your story end? How does it end? Will it be a happy ending or a tragedy? We never know for certain when our stories are going to end, whether it will be a complete closing or a cliff-hanging book. But what we can predict and edit is the feeling at the end. We can predict whether it will end in a happy, fairy-tale ending or whether it ends in flames and ruin.

{Before I go on, I would like to make clear yet again that I realize not all my readers have the same religion preference as I and I am not going to force it on you, and well I'm not perfect. This post is not to be offensive to anyone, but I just felt I haven't had a good, meaningful post with a message in a while so please don't be offended. That's not what I am going for. Thanks everyone for understanding and I hope you enjoy it! :) }

Despite beliefs, we will not live forever. Maybe in spirit? But physically, our bodies will die one day. It could be tomorrow or it could be twenty+ years from now. We never know. Doctors can predict a life span all they want to, but if actuality it's just that; a prediction. Miracles do happen. People with a malignant tumor that was spreading rapidly and didn't have but a short amount of time left to live have left hospitals CANCER FREE. Coincidence? I think not. 'Miracle' is the proper term.

So how does your story end? I don't know how your story ends, but you do. It's your life so it all depends on how you live it.

How to make the ending a fairy tale ending? It's not easy. Trust me. While following the yellow brick road, there are some 'short cuts' that are planted along the way. Short cuts that will lead you to destruction. Remember how Hansel and Gretel's story ended? They took a short cut and look where it brought them; a mean old woman's house where they were going to be cooked for dinner. Sometimes, short cuts are anything but. Most of the time, you end up going many miles out of your way to get to your destination. But it happens to all of us. I for one have slipped off the yellow brick road plenty of times, but I try not to get distracted...but it happens. There are many, many influences out there in the surrounding forests that will try to lead you astray and sometimes it's really hard to ignore them. Sometimes these influences are your friends or family. Sometimes it's music or something. But it's up to you to steer clear of these temptations. It's difficult but you have to do what you have to do to have that fairy tale ending. But if you do happen to slip off the road to a worn path in the woods, remember your way back to the right path. Don't get lost.
This picture above it true. At any moment, you have the power to say 'this is not how the story is going to end'. You have the ability to change your ways and turn your life around. It's not always easy, I know I have said that multiple times before, but it's true. Life isn't easy. But it's about persistence. It's all about never giving up. Never going back to your old ways. Again, it isn't easy and people and things are going to try to change you back and get you off that yellow brick road...but it's up to you to stay with it. It's up to you to ignore the things of the world.

"Waking up to another dark morning
People are mourning
The weather in life outside is storming
But what would it take for the clouds to break
For us to realize each day
Is a gift somehow, someway
And get our heads up out of this darkness
And spark this new mindset and start on with life cuz it ain't gone yet
And tragedy's a reminder to take off the blinders and wake up
(to live the life)
We're supposed to take up
(moving forward)
With all our heads up
Cuz life is worth living"

Huzzah!

March 14, 2012

So I'll begin this by saying that Google never fails to make me laugh. Never fails. I typed in 'soccer' and got some basketball pictures, baseball pictures, gymnastics, and a few soccer pictures. Google...I'm worried. xD

Anywho, read my 'Once Upon A Time' post to understand what I'm about to talk about. xD

This morning I was pissed. Why was I pissed? Because the school took me and my friend's name off of the soccer sign-up sheet. But get this...no, they did not cross our names off and let it slide. No, too easy. No soft-hearted. No, they actually made a new signup sheet putting only the BOYS who signed up's names on there. Oh and they made a nice little announcement stating 'no coed sports.' WTH.

Let's just say I was steaming. I was super angry. But I held my composure. I wasn't about to give up though.

So after school my friend and I took a stand and went to the principal's office. We were determined to find out the REAL reason of why we were denied the ability to play on the boy's team.

The principal had no idea what was going on with this and after we told all, she agreed to talk to the athletics department and check with our school division about the situation.

A silver lining to this storm cloud? Maybe just maybe. :)

I have a large rant about this whole soccer situation but I shall abstain from posting that just yet. xD

But anywho, if this does not work, then we'll just have to go beyond. This situation is not dying without a good valid reason. :)

Once Upon A Time...

March 13, 2012

Once upon a time, long ago, in a land far away lived a princess in a school filled with other princesses. This particular princess, named Mila, wanted to break free. She noticed the prince's school had greener grass and waterfalls and beautiful animals. Mila decided she would leave  Princess Academy and go over to Princeton to learn.

Immediately after reaching the gates of Princeton, guards stopped her. They grabbed her by her sleeves and told her she could not get in, even for a visit.

"But why?", Mila asked.

She found out it was because she was a girl. She could not enroll in the school because she was born a girl. Mila was sad. She had never heard of such a thing.

She vowed she would find out a way so that she could be enrolled in the prince's school.

Since her father was the king, he made it a law against gender discrimination.

The princess got what she wanted, to go to school at Princeton.

...But this isn't a fairy tale and this goes on daily. Gender discrimination is wrong. More on this next week? :|
